Subject: HOA Board Dirty Tricks?
All:
Many of you would have received the email from the board this morning about the HOA Amendments that have been proposed. Rather than continue the back and forth, I’m leaving this to the homeowners to decide at the special meeting.
However, it is worth noting an extremely troubling part of that email, relating to a communication from April Tuey (our property manager) that suggested to the board that if the special meeting was called for 9PM following the currently scheduled annual meeting, that homeowners would be discouraged from participating. In her email to the board, April wrote:
“One other thing if you do not want to have the Special Meeting after the Annual, we could still hold it on Wednesday or Thursday of the same week and be in compliance with the 30 day rule. I just thought that making the meeting so late at night might discourage the homeowners.”
Based on the board’s email, they support this thinking. If you haven’t seen this email, you can read this at http://www.plantationsprings.org/node/29 (a PDF of the email can be found there).
While the board’s email has not altered my view that this amendment should be considered by homeowners, I do believe that the dirty tricks that the board are conducting to discourage homeowners from considering these amendments are worthy of being pointed out.
Sincerely,
James Nunn

No soliciting garden signs are available from the Frisco Neighborhood Watch.
If you prefer to print your own, you can download the PDF (see below) which can be printed, and pasted next to your front door. The sign must be visible before a person gets to your front door (and we have found that the window section right next to your front door works very well). There is also a JPG version of the graphic in case you want to add this to your own document discouraging solicitors.
I have put forward two proposed amendments to the HOA's Governing Documents that would provide the option for homeowners to pay their annual dues on a quarterly basis. Following is what was submitted to the Board of Directors. (Deletions are struckthrough, and additions are underlined.)
The following information is distributed from the City of Frisco's News and Information service.

The Frisco tradition features the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.
Admission to the event is free, but some activities, as well as food and drinks, require a fee.
Event parking is available in the Pizza Hut Park lots north of Main Street between World Cup Way and Frisco Street. Two shuttle buses will run from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to transport Merry Main Street guests from the
remote parking areas to Main Street. One of the buses can accommodate
special needs individuals.
The HOA Board has advised that they are no longer consolidating reporting street light outages through the property manager, and are now asking homeowners to report light outages directly.
To report an outage you can call TXU at 1-800-242-9113 or you can report street light outages online (in most cases) by visiting https://www.oncorstreetlight.com/. You will need to type the address near the light, and select "show lights" to see the lights that are available around that area. Note that only "red" dots can be serviced through this online form, and "blue" dots will have to be reported directly to TXU.
