Garage Sale Signs do not require the issuance of a Sign Permit. Garage Sale Signs may be displayed as early as 9 a.m. Saturday the weekend of the garage sale and must be removed by 6 p.m. on the Sunday of the weekend of the garage sale. Garage Sale Signs cannot be larger than six (6) square feet in total area and cannot be displayed during weekdays.

Under NO circumstances are garage sale signs permitted on public rights of way, medians, etc.

Garage Sale Signs are allowed to be installed on private residential property with the consent of the property owner. Obtaining permission from the Plantation Springs Architectural Control Committee provides you with authority to place your signs on HOA property (for example, entrances).

Do not place Garage Sale signs on fences, poles, trees or railings. Make sure the signs do not contain any balloons, streamers or similar materials. Garage Sale Signs must not block drivers’ visibility and should be placed 10 to 15 feet from the curb or street pavement. Do not decorate and/or park a vehicle at an intersection, or place signs on a vehicle, to advertise for a garage sale.

If you would like to report a Garage Sale sign, or you have questions about a sign you would like to place, please contact City of Frisco Code Enforcement at 972-292-5302.
